Course Breakfast, Dessert, Drinks, Snack
Cuisine Japanese
- ½ frozen banana, sliced about 80 grams
- ⅓ cup blueberries
- ½ cup milk whole milk or 2%
- 2 tablespoon black sesame paste
- ½ teaspoon honey or maple syrup (optional)
- 5 ice cubes for a thicker smoothie
Add the frozen banana, blueberries, black sesame paste, milk, and honey (if using) to a blender.
Blend until smooth and creamy.
If you'd like a thicker, frostier smoothie, add the ice cubes and blend again until smooth.
Pour into a glass and enjoy immediately.
Use a frozen banana: It creates a thick, creamy texture without needing much ice. For easier blending, cut the banana into smaller chunks before freezing.
Use fresh or frozen blueberries: Both work well, but I prefer frozen blueberries for an extra-cold, slightly thicker smoothie. There’s no need to thaw them first.
Adjust the consistency: For a thicker, frostier smoothie, blend in about 5 ice cubes.
Sweeten to taste: Taste the smoothie after blending and add more honey if needed. If your banana is very ripe, you may not need any honey at all.
Best enjoyed fresh: This smoothie tastes best right after blending, but leftovers can be refrigerated for up to 24 hours. Stir or shake well before drinking.
