Ingredients

  • 1 ¼ teaspoon matcha
  • 2 tablespoon hot water* approximately 176°F (80°C)
  • 1 cup coconut milk
  • 1 pinch aojiru/matcha mix powder optional: to sprinkle on top

Instructions

  • Boil water in a kettle. Then, let it cool down for 1-2 minutes.
  • Scoop matcha powder into a cup.
  • Gently heat coconut milk in a sauce pan on low heat.*
  • Add hot water to the cup.
  • Mix matcha with a bamboo whisk or spoon.
  • Pour coconut milk into cup.*
  • Swirl with spoon to make "latte art" (optional)
  • Sprinkle aojiru/matcha or matcha on top with a sieve (optional)

Notes

*Filtered or spring water is preferable.
*Coconut oil will naturally separate into water and oil. You can mix together in the can or use the thicker part of the coconut milk to make your latte extra creamy.
*It's not necessary to froth the coconut milk. I don't own a frother right now. Though, coconut milk will froth. From what I've seen, the bubbles will be a little big compared to cow's milk.
